Festival FAQs

Yoga Vidya Gurukul ashram is situated near Nasik, Maharashtra, in the Sahyadri mountain range, surrounded by fascinating landscape and natural beauty. It is an ideal location to get away from the city and stressful modern life.

The ashram is in the vicinity of  Trimbakeshwara, one of the 12 most important and auspicious Shiva Temples in India. Lord Shiva is the origin of Yoga Tradition; which makes the location of the ashram more significant. Millions of devotees visit the Shiva temple annually. Surrounding mountains are considered as the heaven for Yogis, to perform Yoga & Mediation practices.

Based on ancient teachings, an ashram experience is life transforming and brings positivity to everyone. The festival is suitable for beginners to advanced practitioners who want to understand deeper aspects of yoga following an ashram lifestyle. Experience beautiful nature, eat organic food from the ashram garden, chant mantras, receive teachings from gurus and experts, take Ayurvedic treatments, enjoy the swimming pool and most of all, deepen your yoga practice while connecting with others from all over the world.

IMPORTANT TRAVEL INFORMATION

  • You are required to book your own flights to and from India. Mumbai (BOM) is the closest large international airport. The drive from BOM to the ashram is around 4 hours. Alternatively, you can fly into several other cities such as Delhi or Bangalore and then take a domestic flight to Nashik (ISK) or Shirdi (SAG) which are closer to the ashram than Mumbai. This would shorten the drive to the ashram.

  • When flights are booked, please notify Elizabeth. You will receive a form to complete with flight details so airport transport can be arranged.

  • Participants can coordinate flights and fly together. The information can be shared within our group.

  • Expiry date on passport must not be less than six months from date of entry into India.

  • Current Indian tourist Visa is required. Apply for Visa here. Note: Visa is only valid when application status shows "granted".
