PROPOSED ITINERARY*

Drakensberg – 3 nights

Daily Yoga - Mantra,  Asana,  Pranayama & Meditation

Saturday, April 10 -Johannesburg to Drakensberg

7:00 AM Departure from Johannesburg. Arrive in time for lunch

Settle into comfortable and simple shared accommodation in breathtaking surroundings

Easy ambles/walks or cooling off in a nearby waterfall

Sunday 11 - Monday 12

Tuesday 13

Depart after breakfast for uMtamvuna the Wild Coast. Possible stop at historical sights or temples.

uMtamvuna Gorge and the Wild Coast – 4 nights

Daily Yoga - Mantra, Asana, Pranayama & Meditation

Tuesday 13 – Friday 16 – uMtamvuna and surrounds

Arrive in time for lunch

Settle into beautiful riverside accommodation, on the border between KwaZulu Natal and the Eastern Cape. 

Options: Visit a local school, suspension foot bridge, secret garden, magnificent safe swimming beaches, hike the gorge, visit a wild life rescue centre, discover fossilized trees on the Wild Coast, visit the smallest desert in the world, tour in a coffee plantation, overnight hike/stay in traditional Zulu huts (transport options available).

Pilanesberg Game Reserve – 2 nights

Daily Yoga - Mantra, Asana, Pranayama & Meditation

Saturday 17 - Monday 19 

Flight and transport to the Big Five Game Reserve 

Arrive in time for lunch

Spend two days enjoying the “bush” and animal spotting.

Option: Hot air balloon safari (own cost)

Johannesburg – 1 night

Monday 19th  - Depart Pilanesberg and Arrive in Johannesburg in time for lunch or later. Option: Visit Cradle of Humankind museum on the way (UNESCO).

Check-in to hotel in Johannesburg until your flight home this evening or tomorrow.

Yoga Retreat Ends

Options for 19th & 20th : Visit apartheid museum where Mahatma Ghandi and Nelson Mandela were imprisoned. Visit Soweto or Maboneng Precinct. Local craft market shopping for take-home gifts. Iconic landmarks. Bronwyn grew up in Johannesburg and can give you more information on what to see and do and what not to do.
